Hershey Water Jar

After (around) twenty, yes 20 years of faithful service my water jar has cracked.

Big sigh...I had just washed it and rinsed it in hot water, and filled it with cold water, NO! NO!

Give me a minute...there...(clearing my throat)
This little pint jar has been my water glass for all those years. When telling DH about it, I could hardly believe that I've had it for so long.

Well, good thing I have 2 more, 'cause, Hershey's does not make this jar anymore. It used to contain hot fudge chocolate... So, over a period of time I accumulated three of them. Several summers ago I found that Hershey had changed the jar to a round one. This square one was great, for it never got mixed up with everyone else's water jar. Oh, well...pulled out another one, and there is no difference...a jar is a jar, but I hated seeing it in the trash.

OLD JAR
NEW JAR

As you can see, their new jar does not have the reusable 'mason jar lid' neck. Hey...I should go get one of these, to see how it works. (LOL) Well, actually, my cousin is coming next week, so I should serve her ice cream and hot fudge sauce, with a spinkle of home made candied pecans.
Ok, enough nonsense. It is SUMMER, actually it is still Spring, but the temp is 92F and 90Meg. of humidity. (aka %) [I thought I said, 'enough nonsense'?]

I'll leave you with this:

Lots of rain

Hi again!

We had a HUGE downpour last Tuesday, over 5 inches of water between 10am and 5pm. This happens every two or three years, but it is still an awesome experience to see it happen. Some areas got huge hail, like grapefruite size, some got tennis ball size, we got not hail at all, thank you Lord.
So this morning, very early it rained hugely, before sunup, but around 10ish we received rain for over 30 minutes. Look.

It does not do it justice but you can see the straight-down 'sheet' of rain.

On another subject: Went to see a friend, a few weeks ago and in her front yard, just outside her kitchen window I saw this, and thought you might like to see it.

The nest is about 8 ft from the ground. Never saw a robin's nest so close to the ground before.

Have not done much...I have been reading, and reading, and reading. Talked to #4 this morning and he asked what I've been knitting, so I told him, 'nothing at all'. Then he sort of screamed in horror: "where is my Mom? and what have you done with her"...what can I tell you...I have only 75 pages to go on this 850 page book from 1880--first edition--WOW! maybe I'll share with you about it, another time. It is the author's narration of his life as a priest, in the years before he was DELIVERED by Almighty God from the clutches of Rome. A friend of ours insisted that we should read it...he was right. There is an abridged version out there, but it's only 300 and some pages long. I cannot see how 500 pages can be removed and still get the 'jist' of the book. If any of you have read both I'd appreciate a comment about it. Fifty Years in the Church of Rome, by Charles Chiniquy.
I'll leave you with this:

Getting around to adding Candy's blog back in

Most of you who visit here probably already know that Candy has been back for many weeks. I wanted to share it with you, just in case you did not know. She still has a lovely, very organized, very informative blog, but she has added videos. I finished watching her last installment of 'A week in my kitchen' videos. They are very inspiring. So, girlies, enjoy watching, take notes, copy recipies, etc., etc.

My computer is working as before, it does not shut down, or anything. Thank you #5 for all the time spent undoing what evils had crept in there.

Going grocery shopping. So, I'll leave you with this:
