Good news for ElaineCrochet

She is having another baby. What a blessing the Lord is giving them.

Still here, folks! and goat update.

DH has restored my computer, but still cannot get on-line...one day, soon I shall be back with updates.

Now, it seems that not being on-line has deprived me of the knowledge of many things, recently developed. One of my favorites: bellamamasprairielife, has become "by invitation," sigh...and I don't know about the rest of my favorites, cannot go there. Well, if these ladies have sent me emails, I cannot look at emails either, sigh again...

But, be of good cheer, I'm getting other things done.

Oh, by the way. Remember Kali, the goat, that was expecting triplets? She had three bucks, but two are no more. They were over 8lbs each, (wholly big bucks, batman!!!!) My friend had to call her friend the Vet to assist. The bucks had to be 'taken out' to give the one alive a chance. If the Vet had not come immediately, my goater friend would have lost, even Kali. Kali has not entirely rejected her baby buck, but he will not nurse from Momma Kali...so my friend has been feeding 'Donny" with a baby-buck-syringe. Poor Kali she is very skinny and gaining strength. All shall be well with her.
All this drama happened one week ago, Saturday.
I'll have pictures, soon.

The back to normal stuff

Having to blog in the laptop which does not have a picture chip place. I will give you web pictures.

My computer has 'crashed' maybe. After being repaired, I did something--must have pushed 'P'--and now it will not boot up. It says something like...would you like to start in safemode...click here...so I click here and it cycles back...oh, the cyber=life...

I'll go pull a vine that is growing up the tree outside the kitchen window. It is a Virginia Creeper, nice for a green thing, but the flowers are almost invisible. It turns brick red in the fall, but leaf by leaf, and makes it look brown and spottled and not pretty at all.

I should go ask for some Boston Ivy from a neighbour. Boston Ivy is brilliant in the fall, and stays bright bricky red for many days.
I think the Boston Ivy is much prettier by far.

I borrowed the pictures from the ivies sites, but cannot make them look nice. Sorry.

It is still spring...lovely breezy and 60F. It seems that all the trees turned green over the weekend, and are now their regular summer color. No more that palish green of early spring.

All looks beautiful...the pecan tree is being devoured by the squirrels, that is, the little leaves. As they come out the squirrels eat them. Must have some nutrient that enhances their 'hard-headedness'...boy! they are relentless.

The figs put out nice fruit, but the frost got them last week. I'll have to make friends with someone in a warmer climate (who grows figs) and ask them for some this summer.

I really like figs...fresh figs. At the end of summer they can be found at groceries stores, for $3.00 a piece. ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! The US government should raise figs and pay off the national debt! YIKES!

One more, and then back to regular stuff

This one is brought to you by your local chapter of the GLOBAL FEAR FARMERS*. Their Jingle: "If you have no fears now, come to us we have a bunch." (sang to the tune of twinkle, twinkle, little star)
...seriously folks...Thanks to Nancy today, I was able to hear a Canadian news station's interview with Professor Frank Furedi of the University of Kent in England. Here is his written report in Spiked Online. If you have the time...a good read.

Swine Who?

OOOOOPPSSiedaisy???
It seems that there must have been some sort of typo...you see the world map shows that there have been ONLY 12 deaths from the swine flu in Mexico, and 300 people INFECTED.
But, hey! we are only the media...don't you know that we are busy creating panics in other parts of the world about other things??? huh? Who do you think we are? We are endeavouring to keep your mind reeling, so you cannot think things through. This was not...I repeat NOT supposed to cause undue panic in the various populations...just cautions...er...wash your hands, 'n all. We're outta hee-ah!

I'll leave you with this:
