The Nesting bunnies--continued, and other happy stuff

Well, remember the bunnies that were making a nest, and then it rained, and etc. etc?...here is the continuation of the story. I did not intend to make this *a weekly episode* series; however, this is the *season finale* so to speak.

It was a dark, and stormy night--No, wait! wrong story...Last week we found out why the bunnies were making a nest in the front of our house. And not in their usual place, under the garden shed.
(Click on the pictures so you can see better)

Ok, so here is the giant groundhog/woodchuck critter, who is the reason for the bunnies' displacement. Actually, he (?) is the occupying force under the garden shed.

He is sort of cute, in an ugly kind of way. He stands on his hind legs and stretches, as a person would. Impressive stance for such a 'low rider'.
He eats--whatever it is--in the lawn, maybe grubs (ugh!) maybe delectable wild violet plants.

He thinks he is the lord of his realm, until we go outside; he gets startled and runs, low to the ground on his short little legs, and hides in his stronghold...then peeks from under his cover, until 'the coast is clear'
Here he looks as if he is waiting for something...maybe mrs. groundhog/woodchuck????...hope not! I've prayed for some bigger 'thing' to come and eat him, but are not prepared to see a mountain lion, or hamlet-size puma, in our back yard, thank you.

Meanwhile, back in the front of the house, by the entrance--mind you--I saw some movement, right there to the left...waddayaknow!

Five, cute, furry, cuddly, adorable bunnies. See them?

When I got closer, some hid under the vinca. They are so cute.

They had their eyes closed, but opened them as I approached sloooowwwwly.

Now you can see the perspective. I could have held one in the palm of my hand and closed my fingers until my fingers touched my thumb...tiny, tiny little things.

Another view with the lavender on the right.

Last night, DH and I were sitting in the living room, DH reading to me "God's Bestseller" (Biography of Willliam Tyndale, by Moynahan) It was getting dark and I got up to turn the front porch light on and saw some largish darkish thing moving...

He looked right at me! as I took this picture with the flash glowing in his eyes. He was a magnificent specimen of a black and white kitty. I have never seen him before in our neighbourhood. DH said "He must be here for some 'fast food'---perish the thought!" I said.
The kitty did not move when I opened the door, to take a better picture of him.

He looked right at home, and pretended to be enjoying the fragrant aroma of the lavender...
I went back to my chair, and DH continued reading about Mr. Tyndale printing 'octavos' in Antwerp. Suddenly, DH--who can hear the snow falling, in its season--Exclaimed, "He got one!" I ran to the door and could not see anything...as I opened the storm door, I saw the kitty moving in the middle of the lawn by the red maple. He turned and looked at me and I heard him purring...then, just as matter-of-fact as all animals are, he went back to his meal.
The rest...I cannot speak it...
********************************************************
So, I'm always praying for a neighbourhood kitty to come and eat the chipmunks. Since we've trapped and relocated several chipmunks, the kitties are hungry.

Now, something pretty: I know that *everybody* has posted pictures of the seasonal flowers, especially, since they are so bountiful this year of much rain. This is my version of the beautifully colored wonders that God has given us.

Hollyhocks
Echinacea/coneflower,
Mimosa,

Monarda/Bee Balm--so very fragrant.

Bee Balm next to the Lavender,

Another view of the Bee Balm and Lavender. I love walking by the lavender, and brushing my skirt by it, such delight!

I have been crocheting some 'circles' and hope to show you soon. They are very easy to make. Once the pattern is in your head, it takes but a few minutes to complete one.
I don't know what I'll make with them. I will have a better idea when all are completed.
I'll leave you with this:

"Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God." 1Cor 10:31
In His hands, ^__^

Oh that bad kitty!!! When I had a nest of baby bunnies in my back yard I was so protective of them!! There was a cat hanging around then too! Mind you I found the nest by accident, as my dog found it first and brought a baby bunny that was squealing to the back door wanting to come into the house. I made sure he was chained up every time he went outside to give the other bunnies the opportunity to survive. They are so adorable.
I love your flowers Iknit, they are beautiful. We are getting an abundance of rain too.

Great photos, the bunnies are so cute. Too bad about the one though. The flowers are gorgeous.

Last summer as I was squooching the mounds that the ground squirrels make in the whole yard, I accidently squooched a bunnies nest...they were about half the size of yours...I'm not sure what happened to them, but there are few giant rabbits in our yard now, they like the raspberry & blackberry bushes & I believe that's where they relocated to settle down!
Amazing, your dh's hearing!
AND...that lavender!!!
Many blessings & smiles!
