Tea For Lunch

This is my lunch.

A cup of Detox A.M. from Celestial Seasonings, and a meat turnover.

Turnovers are such a portable meal. They are made in all parts of the world that use wheat flour. They are known by many different names. They come in many different shapes, and are filled with different meats, cheeses, vegetables, jams, assorted creams, etc., etc.

They can be fried--as mine is--or boiled, or baked.
Pirogies, Empanadas, Spring Rolls, Samosas, Bunhuelinos, Raviolis, Rangoons, and Blintzs; just to name a few.

I think they are all fun to make and even funner to eat.

You can make them for snacks, appetizers or meals--even deserts. It all depends what the filling is, and how you top them or not top them. They can be dipped in a myriad of sauces, or covered with them.

You can make them very bland, or very spicy, and anywhere in between.

Try them as a side dish, or as a main course.

Make a whooooole bunch and bring them to your family or church get-together. Or, call the girls and have a 'Tea'

I think this is the ORIGINAL Humble Pie, but I may be wrong.

The Humble Turnover--whatever you call it--is among the most versatile foods.

Ok, pies! and sunset

First the Ragullah that I make with the leftover pie crust. [sometimes called Rugulah, and/or Raghula]
You know, the regular stuff: A little butter, cinnamon and sugar...with a glass of milk, of course.
Berries pie: Cranberries, blackberries, blueberries, and red raspberries, with a can of condensed milk--I used Carnation brand.
This one is Dutch Appleberry. Mostly apples and the remnant of the berries.

This one is my 'much loved' Dutch Apple. I know they will bring much needed funds for the missionaries. Sometimes $25.00 each. (it's just that people want to give extra money to the fund)

Would you look at this sunset! Facing west into the last bands of Ike, and just 5 minutes before the sky was tomato red.

Like this...so breathtaking...so beautiful...so glorious...

Sweaters: *Everybody* is making and posting EZ's Baby Surprise jacket, here is the Knitters magazine Spring Issue, 14, from 1989
I'm working on one, but as easy it is to make I am continually counting stitches and rows. I will be making only this one.
That is too much effort for so little show...excuse me, that is my opinion. Give me tons of cables, fairisle, and lace, there is a bountiful reward with those.
Here is the page for the Adult Surprise.

Bunnies, whipped cream, and a thought

Do you see her????
She--and I say she, because *she* was pulling grass with great force from the lawn and bringing it here. This is right by our front door and garage entrance; does she think she'll be unnoticed?

But, bunnies are bunnies, and probably are not reasonable or logical. (The echinacea is budding and beginning to flower, by the way. Also, notice the lavender to the right,)
There they are, both pappa and momma bunny in the *sort-of-shade* under the Virginia Creeper on the post.
Pappa bunny just watching momma bunny do all the work.

These national-geographic-moment pictures were taken by DH when we came home from church on Sunday. Good thing we had the camera with us.
Update on the bunny nest building: Sunday and Monday night it rained 'cats and dogs' so the nest is all gone. They might have to start all over again, or go back to nest building under the garden shed.
Grand Masterpiece!
(Only sharing this picture since it is a collaboration between me--the Masterpiece pen drawing--and 2c--the Grand. It looks like the storms we've had lately...raninbow and all!

FOOD.
First what I made for dinner. The veggie omelette and sausage patty, on my Dickens' dishes (always makes yellow food look awesome)

Next, Dessert:
Thanks to Daisy's idea of a chocolate pie, I came up with this, using what I had.
Russian meringue, these are 2" in diameter, very crunchy-melt-in-your-mouth things.
Which were served with whipped cream and cooked chocolate pudding.

The whipped cream 'has to be' whipped way pass the "peak" stage to hold up to these nuggets.

I thought you would like it too. It is ok with me if you copy my ingredients. It's possible you would not have thought of putting them together.
Another subject:
I've been toying with the idea of doing one of those invitational *once-a-week* posts. The idea is quite complete and will let you know tomorrow--Lord willing.
Oh, and by the way, I do love to read your comments (although I may not comment in print, DH really appreciates all of them.)
